Biratnagar (Morang), Dec 26: Sadbhavana Party Chairman Rajendra Mahato was admitted to Biratnagar-based Golden Hospital after sustaining head injuries in a clash between agitators and police in Biratnagar on Saturday.
Police said that Mahato was in normal condition.
Other 11 cadres of agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) and a constable were also hurt in the clash that ensued when police tried to clear the road for cargo-loaded vehicles to pass into Nepal from India at Biratnagar-based Rani Customs. The UDMF cadres were staging a sit-in at the customs.
Police also arrested five protesters in connection with the incident. RSS
