Leaders attend luncheon at Indian Embassy

ranjit-rayKathmandu, Dec 11: Indian Ambassador to Nepal Ranjit Rae on Friday hosted a luncheon party for some leaders of major political parties while there was widespread criticism from all walks of life against continued Indian unofficial border blockade on Nepal.

Leaders and lawmakers of ruling and main opposition parties were present at the luncheon party organized at Indian Embassy in Lainchaur.

On the occassion, matters cocnerning the emergence of difficult situation between Nepal and India of late were lightly discussed, shared the leaders who attended the party.

They stressed the need to make Nepal-India relations cordial based on mutual trust keeping in mind that the bilateral ties is century-old.

The luncheon was attened by CPN-UML leader Surendra Pandey, UCPN (maoist)’s Prabhu Saha, Nepali Congress general secretary Krishna Prasad Sitaula, leaders Bimalendra Nidhi, Ananda Prasad Dhungana, Amresh Kumar Singh and Sadbhavana Party leader Laxman Lal Karna, among others.

NC leaders Nidhi and Dhungana, who attended the party, informed that they had simply attended the meeting as invited. However, other party leaders declined to comment on the event. RSS
