London ,Let me start with students. I am myself an international student just completed my degree. Respected Prime Minister David Cameron after you have been in power you shut down PSW(Post Study Work) route which was the backbone of return of investment for thousands of international students like me. In addition, your Home Secretary Theresa May announced to kick international students out after graduation. This has been one of the biggest misfortunes for international students. This has been a direct attack in the sentiments of international students who pay twice fees as compared to British and EU counterparts. But in return so humiliating and vulnerable environment. Though later her policy was highly criticized by MPs , Universities UK , businesses , NUS, and entrepreneurs from James Dyson to Lord Bilimoria . We DEMAND it was not enough for what she had said. You should apologize & show some respect for us. Let me tell you once again Mrs May , we are not football to get kicked. Show some respect. It’s our decision whether to leave the country or not abiding all government policies.
Mr Cameron , after you came in power you changed rules and brought new policies which made our future as volatile as British Weather.
Back in 2012, a policy was outlined by your government where students applying in private colleges will not be allowed to work, also a student applying in private college will not be allowed to bring dependents from overseas. In addition we saw a biggest scandal in TOEIC, where 48000 emigrants were accused of using fake certificates for extending visas in UK. Let me tell you one thing, where there is a system there is a failure. Its just ignorance if you deny that. We don’t want to see a world leader being so ignorant. Just a panoramic report by BBC from one test center cannot magistrate all the applicants from different test centers. If yes let me put you this way. Jimmy Savile was a biggest celebrity in British history accused of rape, many conservative MPs were accused of sexually abusing and murdering teens during a brutal sex game in history. Now, shall I start saying all the British artists are pedophiles? Or shall we start saying David Cameron are you a rapist? Indeed for us this is just nothing but a British hypocrisy because of which thousands have been the victims.
Let me share you my personal story, which is also a story of vast majorities who fail to earn more than 18k. Friend of mine was In love with a guy in Nepal, went to Nepal got married but unfortunately she couldn’t bring him. The only reason is she is a British student who failed to earn more than 18K. Bloody, why the hell in earth you have to earn certain amount to live together. I utterly condemn that you have failed to understand the feeling of poor people. Policies should not be always made for rich. Mr. Cameroon you don’t even know what’s the minimum living wage when asked by one of the audience in one programme. Your answer was its different in different parts of the country and don’t have figures in your head. Ok, tell me now how on earth will she earn more than 18 thousand a year when she is still studying? Isn’t it her right to be with her love? You’re tearing many families apart because of such policy. Every feelings matters, every drop of tear shed by such policy is the result of conservative people in power.
Also, let me talk about NHS(National Health Service). It has been already introduced that immigrants living more than 6 months will have to pay a surcharge of £200 per year and £150 per year for students. Fair enough. It doesn’t even cost £13 a month but, Mr Cameron I had myself waited more than 4 hours in queue in an emergency department to be seen by a consultant.. I was lucky that it wasn’t a life threatening problem otherwise people will definitively die in such a long hours of wait. Locals wait months and months to be seen by a consultant by then people suffer from another disease. So why on earth shall I pay for such incompetence broken health system where I have to live my in such a stressful illnesses. It’s just a crap policy to raise billions of pounds from immigrants. Government is just trying to be opportunist.
But, At the same time moving ahead with the situation Scottish National Party (SNP) has come forward with a manifesto of allowing post study work for international students in Scotland. As we have been counted as immigrants our vote definitively matters. Though I am not allowed to vote but my EU and Common wealth friends and British families who where once a student can fluctuate the tide in this 2015 British Politics. I appeal to my people and International students, say no to conservatives.
Thus, it is indisputable that government needs to acknowledge and praise the financial, cultural and diverse intellectual value of immigrants and students like us.
