Myagdi, Feb 25: The bodies of those who died in the Tara Air crash have been recovered.
The passenger plane which went missing in some minutes after take-off from Pokhara Airport to Jomsom on Wednesday morning was found crashed at Solighopte, Dana-2 in Myagdi district some five hours later.
A separate team of Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force personnel who reached the site with rescue materials have retrieved the dead bodies from the site. Of the 23 bodies, 20 have been airlifted to Pokhara, according to the District Administration Office, Myagdi.
The three dead bodies of those passengers belonging to Mustang will be sent to Mustang, shared Sagarmani Pathak, Chief District Officer (CDO), Myagdi.
The collection of dead bodies was made easier with the clarity in visibility today, added Bishwaraj Khadka, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Myagdi.
The rescue operation in the site, mountainous terrain, was halted temporarily on Wednesday due to the thick fog and rainfall.
Of the total 23 people on board the ill-fated airplane, 20 were learnt to be passengers, including a Chinese and a Kuwaiti national, whereas rest two pilots and the air hostess.RSS
