Ratnanagar (Chitwan), Dec 8: The special national cadres gathering of the CPN (UML) concluded in Sauraha, Chitwan endorsing a 16-point resolution.
The resolution was presented by party politburo member Banshidhar Mishra, UML Secretary and Publicity Department Chief Yogesh Bhattarai said.
Announcing the closing of the gathering, party Vice Chair Astalaxmi Shakya expressed her hope that confusions and ambiguities remaining within the party would end with the gathering. The gathering concluded that the constitution amendment bill tabled at the Legislature-Parliament be forwarded and the disputes on the demarcation of federation units should be settled on the basis of political consensus within the next three months, calling on the agitating parties to withdraw the protest programmes.
The gathering agreed to move ahead in unison to meet the people’s aspirations for building a peaceful, democratic, just and prosperous Nepal with the effective enforcement of the new constitution.
Similarly, it has congratulated the new President, Vice President, Speaker and Deputy Speaker wishing for the success of the KP Sharma-led new government. The gathering called on the government to execute the decisions of the previous government to provide financial compensation to the families of those killed in course of the Madhes agitation and bear the treatment expense of the injured. The party has also decided to take lead in ending all forms of discriminations and feudal mind-sets.
The gathering will draw the attention of the government to forward the substantive oncept for overall development of Tarai-Madhes. The party has called for a concrete step towards self-dependence and inter-dependence, implementation of the constitution and unifying all the leftist, democratic and patriotic forces for post-quake reconstruction and for protecting national interest and integrity.
