PM suggested boosting up relations with India

kp oli pmKathmandu, Feb 16: Industrialists and entrepreneurs have suggested Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to boost up political and economic ties with India.

At an interaction organized by Reporters’ Club in the capital city on Tuesday, Acting President of the FNCCI, Bhawani Rana, said if some agreement relating to economy were made with India, it would be fruitful to reduce trade deficit to India. If agreement is made on custom facilitation in India, export of Nepali agro products, tourism promotion and energy crisis, it would contribute to development of national economy, she argued.

Similarly, Senior Vice-Chairman of Confederation of Nepali Industries, Hari Bhakta Sharma, pointed out the need of strengthening political relations between Nepal and India for industrial development in Nepal.

Former Chairman of Nepal Chamber of Commerce Surendra Bir Malakar said as the PM’s visit to India was of wider concern, it should aim at resolving some recurring problems.

Moreover, former FNCCI Chairman Rabi Bhakta Shrestha argued if Nepal produced sufficient electricity and exported to India, it would help to cut the trade deficit significantly. RSS
