Kathmandu, Dec 24: Today’s meeting of UCPN (Maoist) Standing Committee has decided to call for Provincial Committee’s meeting in all seven provinces as stipulated in the new constitution.
The meeting held at the UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s residence at Lazimpat, Kathmandu has also agreed to host training at province level from coming December 3 to January 14, shared the Party’s Spokesperson Dinanath Sharma.
According to today’s decision, the first such meeting and training will be held at the capital of Province No 3 in Kathmandu on December 3. The next meeting will be held at capital of Province no 1, Itahari in Sunsari, on January 2.
Similarly, UCPN (Maoist), one of the coalition partners in the incumbent government, has decided to hold a meeting at Bardibas of the Province No 2 on January 4 and at Pokhara of the Province no 4 on January 6.
Likewise, Provincial Committee meeting will be called at Dang of Province No 5 on January 9, at Surkhet of Province No 6 on January 12.
The last meeting of the Committee will be held at Dhangadi of Province no 7 on January 14, added Spokesperson Sharma.
The pre-scheduled meeting of the UCPN (Maoist) Central Council has also been put off, shared Sharma.
In addition, today’s meeting has appointed Himal Rai as the Secretary of the Province no 1 and Narayan Dahal of Province no 3.
Furthermore, the Party has also decided to observe December 26, the birthday of Chinese communist leader Mao Zedong, with much fanfare. RSS
