Practicing FoE should not foment hatred: NHRC Chair Sharma

Kathmandu, Nov 27: Chairman of National Human Rights Commission, Anup Raj Sharma, has said anyone trying to foment negative attitude towards country and people could not be the practitioner of freedom of expression.

Chairman Sharma said this while speaking at a programme on ‘digital freedom of expression’ organized Pen International Nepal Chapter in the capital city Friday.

Nepal representative of UNESCO, Christian Manhart said time has come to heed the digital expression as the society has already embraced the technological development.

Various others speakers including former chairman of Nepal Council of World Affairs, Surya Lal Amatya, Professor Yadav Prasad Dhungana, constitution expert Dr Chandra Kant Gyawali said it has already been late to incorporate digital knowledge into school and university educations.

Chairman of the organizing programme, Ram Kumar Pande, said the present writers were in need of digital knowledge. The digital knowledge should be linked to humanity and civilization, he stressed. RSS
